Problem
Consumers have no way to verify their drinking water quality without expensive lab testing. Tap water can contain harmful nitrates, heavy metals, and bacteria that are invisible to the naked eye. Existing water testing solutions are inconvenient, slow, and don't provide actionable real-time data. People needed a portable, instant water quality analysis tool integrated into their daily routine.

Approach
We developed a smart mug embedded with multiple sensors for pH, nitrate, and salinity detection, paired with UV-C sterilization technology. Our IoT team designed low-power circuitry and waterproof sensor housings. The companion mobile app uses Arduino-based firmware to communicate readings via Bluetooth, displaying results in an intuitive interface. We calibrated sensors against laboratory standards and optimized UV exposure timing for maximum effectiveness.

H2O Metr analyzes your water in seconds, displaying pH levels, nitrate concentration, and salt content on your smartphone. When contamination is detected, the built-in UV-C system activates a 15-minute sterilization cycle, eliminating 99.9% of bacteria and viruses. Users receive historical water quality data, location-based alerts about regional water issues, and personalized hydration recommendations. The device empowers consumers to make informed decisions about their drinking water.
